The committee want our beary members on our posters for our next Bear Essentials – and we are looking for a range of body types to truly represent the club. If you want to be on one of our posters – please contact Josh.
There will be a chance to put in your expression of interest at the AGM as well. These shots will be full body – please include if you are comfortable being photographed in underwear/swimwear. If possible, please include a current photo. This will help with the decision process.

Meet your contestants and judges for our Mr HCB contest next friday!
Find below a snippet from their entry, and keep an eye out for them at our events leading up to the big night!
I’m a lover of the Bear community, one that is more inclusive, that is more concerned about the size of your heart rather than how many reps you can do at the local gym! Outgoing to a fault, and I think I’d make an excellent Mr HCB!
37yo Virgin & your Next Bearchelor of the Year! AKA Mr Kinky Congeniality ?? – I want to spread a message that BEARS = LOVE
Cub with a French accent, I want to represent how the open our community could be.
Why would I like to enter and become Mr HCB… Why wouldn’t you. It’s a great organisation that helps liked minded people connect with each other in a sociable way.
Our judges were chosen to represent a cross section of the bear community, while promoting diversity and inclusion!
Our former HCB president Murray, our Cub and Bear judges Steven and Ian, current Mr Australasia Bear Morro and Jess Scully, councillor for City of Sydney and opener of Bear Essentials 21.
These judges, along with the votes from the audience, will determine your Mr HCB 2017 winner who will then go on to compete in next years Mr Australasia Bear competition!
Check out our Facebook event here or visit our bear pride page for all info!

Is there someone that you think deserves a life membership for their dedication to the bear community? There is a process that needs to be followed as per the constitution – but I’ve made an easy to follow form for people to fill out.
The last chance to get a nomination in for life membership is on the 13th of September as the committee has to ratify the nomination during a committee meeting.

An escape room is a real-life, puzzle-solving adventure game.
You and your team of 2-8 people are “locked” in a room filled with mysterious objects, all waiting to be explored. You have 60 minutes to investigate, find clues, solve puzzles and unravel a story to ultimately set yourself free!
Popular with groups of friends and families, escape games are also ideal for work colleagues as team building/bonding exercises.
Escape Rooms let you use your brain, do something unique, and have fun with your friends!
A LITTLE HISTORY
Puzzle escape games have been enjoyed for decades as computer games (eg Myst, Riven, Gone Home), as Flash games (Crimson Room was a cult hit) and more recently as app games.
The idea of making a real life escape game apparently originated in Japan around 2007. Since then, they’ve grown in popularity around the globe. The first one only hit Australia in 2014.
