Bear Essentials has ended for another year, we have all had a week to rest and recover from our jam packed week!
I’d like to start by thanking all of you for attending our events! We had sell outs and hit capacity on almost every event, and I am very grateful for all of those who attended any of the events that were held over Mardi Gras.
I would also like to thank our two main venue’s over the festival, Kinselas, our home bar for Bears on Friday and meeting point for many of our Bear Essentials events, and the Bank Hotel for hosting our fabulous Sunday recovery parties. Thank you also to ARQ, The Ox, 3 Bears Karaoke, Taronga Zoo, Cook & Phillip Park Aquatic Centre, 357 Sauna and Sydney Sauna for being host to some of our events over the week, and to our Pack Sponsors, ACON and Milkman.
To the Harbour City Bears main committee and our additions for the Bear Essentials committee : Colin Fawcett and Craig Darwen, none of this would have been possible without your dedication and assistance, and I thank you immensely. To all of our volunteers Josh, Peter, Frank, Gary, Luis, Tevin, Dale, Jason, Bruce, Phil, Kimbole, Craig, Farris, Duncan and Chris (If I have missed any I sincerely apologise) the committee thank you for your assistance during events, especially in the hectic Underbear Cloak room and will see you during our volunteer dinner later in the year!
Finally our Photographers Ann-Marie Calihanna, Robert Knapman and Hamid Moussa, thank you for taking some amazing photos for our events for everyone to share and our DJs Luc Das Sant, Puppy, Ray Isaac, Shanie D, Shanobear and Charles, Justin Scott, JD, Bandit, Jimmy Dee, Matt Effect, Man Lie, Grant Cook, Kam Shafaati, Scott Anderson, DJ Vincible, Frankie Shin, Rob Davis and Damien Mack, thank you for the tunes that kept everyone going and happy!
We have prepared a survey to receive feedback on how we went over the week, and it would be appreciated if you could provide us with some information on future changes we could make, to provide an even better Bear Essentials next year and into the future!
