I’ve been part of the bear community for last two years, since breaking up from a 19 year relationship. I had dabbled before then but now have thrown fully myself into all of the bear events, made lots of great mates and visited our bear-brethren to the north and south loads of times to spread the harbour city love.
Initially becoming a HCB member was difficult for me not knowing anyone and a little hard to break into the established bear groups but persistence paid off. If I were to become the next Mr HCB I would like to work to make it easier for newbears to become part of the community.
Prior to breakup, I was pretty shy and socially introverted but HCB has been a big part in helping me work on that. Others would describe me as friendly, compassionate, passionate, giving and community focused. I have a special place in my heart for beards, bear hugs, beers and banter. Other things that move me are nature, nakedness, movies, gadgets and orange. I’m also an active member of the leather community and beginner member of a few gay motorcycle groups.
Harbour City Bears to me is the most inclusive bear group we have in Australia and I’d be proud to champion that as the next Mr HCB.
Well most of you already know me haha. I’d like to say I’m nice and kind. I’d like to enter so I can make men more aware of mens health and mens mental health.
I have had my fair share of ups and downs and I have manage to pull my self up and out. But I know some guys who haven’t and tragically lost their lives way to soon.
I’d also like to represent Australia in the bigger comp and show em what we got
I have been apart of the bear community for many years and either served on the committee or helped with events for the past 9 HCB presidents.
I often host my own bear group events such as Theatre outings or my month Bear Group Dinners.
Over the past few years I have started to go more in my shell and be a home body. Time for me to get back out there and represent the older and chunkier demographic.
I would like to show guys that a positive outlook, comradery and a bit of goof can go a long way for one’s mental well-being.
I’m a bisexual, middle aged, part time dad of daughter. Harbor City Bears helped save my life almost 5 years ago and it’s time for me not only to give back but also to represent my community. I audaciously hope to fill the shoes of the Bears that have before me.
The winner of this will continue on to next years Mr Australasia Bear competition to represent NSW. They have big shoes to fill so give your best support!
